D Reading Room to discuss local author Jeff Guinn’s Go Down Together

New selection alert: our mighty band of readers and commenters will begin next week rummaging through the pages of Go Down Together: The Untold Story of Bonnie & Clyde. GDT is out in paperback now (Legacy Books has plenty in stock) so you can pick up a copy for $16.99 this weekend. I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t sure about the selection but now that I am about 40 pages into it, I am totally hooked. Here’s a taste. We published an excerpt from the book in the April 2009 issue of D Magazine. The New Yorker liked it too: “Engaging… reads like a road story — two kids from the Dallas slums in a fast car, headed to nowhere good.” We will start yapping about it Monday morning bright and early. The first section — through page 92 — will be our focus. Let the reading begin.
